Content slider doesn't slide correctly

The article slider doesn't function correctly. I have 3 articles and am displaying 2 at a time. The problem is that the slider immediately advances to #2 and #3 and ooesn't loop back to show #1. Clicking the 'back' arrow does move to show #1 but immediatey advances again to #2 and #3. I have duplicated your sample controls shown in the help sections but no changes. In addition, I cannot change the Arrow or Hover colors and the Title font is defaulted to Times New Roman.
I am on Joomla 3.10.0 and PHP v 7.4.22
I am also using T4 template.
