Won't open page with menu closed

This is my first use of the component and I'm really liking it.

I have a couple of issues. Firstly, when I first set up the link to the Dinner Menu it opened that page with the menu shut. Now it auto-opens which is annoying. I have the module showing the menu using JoomlaCK's page builder show module. Maybe it's that.

Another thing I don't want (it'd be nice if this was a toggle) is the link on the item name that gives a pop-up. I don't have images nor any more information to show. This is redundant and look unprofessional. Is there a way to stop this? Commenting out the link in the relevant php file? Again, this would be nice to have as a toggle.
